Performance with Jamal Sterrett (2024 - ongoing)

Volume is a live improvised performance and collaboration that journeys through the influences and iterations of popular music from Jamaica. Responding to soundscapes of field records and music mixed by Holmes, Sterrett’s movements are inspired by Bruk Up - a dance style that originated in Kingston, Jamaica to Dancehall music in the 1990s and evolved in Brooklyn, New York in the early 2000s in Afro-Caribbean neighborhoods like Flatbush and Bedford-Stuyvesant with pioneers like Ghost, Storyboard P and the Bed-Stuy Vets.

Ormside Projects, London (2024)
Sound and improvised movement with Jamal Sterrett presented at Décalé - a discursive artist’s platform and club night showcasing experiments in sound, art, performance and moving image. Décalé works to amplify marginalised and unrepresented artistic voices. Their programme holds space for accessibility, inclusivity and worldbuilding, curated by Chooc Ly Tan, Kadeem Oak and Leïla Arenou.

V&A East, London (2025)
Sound Clash explores how East London’s post-industrial landscape has been equipped for sonic expression amidst rapidly changing urban landscapes. Between vertical routes to amplification via the high-rise of Pirate Radio, to strategies of reconnecting with lost land through field recording, discover more about the intersecting sonic ecologies surrounding V&A East.
